A man in his 50s will appear before Bantry district court this morning charged in relation to the seizure of explosive components, firearms and munitions. Gardaí made the arrest over the weekend. A second man in his 30s was released without charge

A Garda has been injured after being struck by a vehicle in Longford. Another man is in hospital following the incident, which involved a vehicle driving erratically resulting in several collisions. It happened in Longford town around 4pm yesterday

Gardaí investigating a fatal hit and run in Mayo have issued an appeal to the driver of the vehicle to come forward. A man in his 40s passed away from his injuries. The incident happened on Wednesday night in the Humbert Way area of Castlebar
